The law school is located only a five-minute tram ride or a 15-minute walk from the city centre, and is positioned right next to the inner-city suburb of Carlton. The school’s contemporary and purpose-built facilities are located adjacent to the historic and leafy university campus.The Melbourne Law School building has been designed specifically for legal education. This state-of-the-art building has simulated court facilities, purpose-built study spaces, a library spanning three levels and comfortable student areas for group work and relaxation. Its Legal Research Centre spans three floors of the law school building, and contains a rich legal collection comprising more than 180,000 volumes of reports, legislation, legal journals and treatises. The LRC also subscribes to major English language databases and has a permanent exhibition of rare books. It provides access to a wide range of the latest electronic resources for teaching and research today.
