University of Melbourne performs well in latest QS Subject Rankings
The university is ranked seventh in the world for Education and eighth in the world for Law, while all of the university’s 41 subject areas fall within the global top 100.
Released in March, the QS World University Rankings by Subject tracks the performance of more than 4,200 universities across 42 subject areas, an increase on six subjects from 2015.
Australia is third-best performer overall in the global rankings.
University of Melbourne Vice-Chancellor Professor Glyn Davis said one of the most pleasing aspects of the results was the significant improvement of the university’s subjects across the board.
“We’ve seen sixteen subjects improve on their 2015 standings, with nearly a third of these coming in the Arts and Humanities area.”
“As a university community we take great pride in the breadth and depth of the subject offerings we make available to students, and today’s results reaffirm our commitment to this broad-based offering.
“While we’re obviously proud of the continued strong international performance of Education and Law, the fact that we have seen subject improvements in every category is a fantastic result,” concluded Professor Davis.
